prefiring
Firing before seeing
Prefiring is a tactic in competitive video games where a player shoots at a location before confirming an enemy is there, anticipating their position based on common patterns or sound cues: He prefired the corner and got the kill.
The technique is standard in first-person shooters, where milliseconds determine who dies first.
