prechorus
Pre-hook song section
A prechorus is the section of a song that comes between the verse and chorus, building tension or momentum before the main hook arrives.
It's a transitional passage that raises energy or shifts mood: The prechorus builds with rising synths before dropping into the chorus.
Also called a lift or climb.
