precedented
Has happened before
Having a precedent—something similar that happened before and can serve as a guide or justification.
The word exists mainly as the logical opposite of *unprecedented*, though it appears far less often.
When something is precedented, it follows established patterns: The court's ruling was entirely precedented.
Most things worth remarking on are novel; the ordinary rarely needs to announce itself as precedented.
