prairie oyster

Raw egg remedy

Prairie oyster has two meanings.

The first is a raw egg swallowed whole in a glass with Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and seasonings—a traditional hangover remedy: He downed a prairie oyster before facing the morning.

The second is a calf testicle, typically breaded and fried, eaten as a delicacy in ranching regions of North America.
