Temporary teaching spaces
Portable classrooms are temporary or relocatable classroom buildings, typically prefabricated structures placed on school grounds when permanent facilities are overcrowded.
They're often called portables, trailers, or modular classrooms: Half my classes were in portables behind the main building.
Originally meant as short-term solutions, many become permanent fixtures for decades.
