A point total is the cumulative score in a game, contest, or scoring system.
In sports betting, the point total (or over/under) is the combined score of both teams, which bettors wager will fall above or below a set number: The point total was set at 48.5.
In fantasy sports and competitions, it tracks accumulated points: Her point total put her in first place.
