Medal-worthy race finish
A podium position is a top-three finish in a race or competition—first, second, or third place, where winners stand on the tiered podium for the awards ceremony.
The term comes from motorsports but applies to any competitive event: She's been on the podium in six of her last eight races.
A podium finish means the same thing.
