plan of action
Course to follow
A plan of action is a strategy or set of steps for achieving a goal or addressing a problem.
It implies deliberate forethought and organized effort: We need a plan of action before the meeting.
The phrase often appears when something has gone wrong and a response is required: What's our plan of action if the deal falls through?
