plagiarising
Passing off another's
Plagiarising is presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own.
The term covers everything from copying text word-for-word to paraphrasing without credit to submitting another's work entirely: He was expelled for plagiarising his thesis.
In academic and professional contexts, plagiarising is a serious ethical violation.
