pitchout
Deliberate wide throw
A pitchout is a deliberate throw away from the strike zone in baseball, intended to give the catcher a better chance to throw out a baserunner attempting to steal: The catcher called for a pitchout and nailed the runner at second.
In football, a pitchout is a quick underhand or lateral toss to a running back, also called a pitch.
