pincer attack
Squeeze from sides
A pincer attack is a military maneuver where forces advance on an enemy from two or more sides simultaneously, aiming to encircle and trap them.
The name comes from the claw-like closing motion of pincers.
The term extends to any coordinated assault from multiple directions: The prosecution mounted a pincer attack, challenging both his alibi and his credibility.
