peeves

Sources of vexation

Peeves is the plural of peeve, meaning things that annoy or irritate someone.

The word appears most often in the phrase pet peeves—minor irritations that bother a particular person disproportionately: One of my pet peeves is people who chew with their mouths open.

As a verb, to peeve is to annoy: It really peeves me when they're late.
