peatier
Richer in humus
Peatier is the comparative form of peaty, meaning having more of the characteristics of peat—the dark, partially decomposed plant matter found in boggy wetlands.
The word appears most often in discussions of Scotch whisky, where peatier malts have a stronger smoky, earthy flavor from peat-dried barley: Islay whiskies are peatier than Highland ones.
