peacock-pheasant
Ocellated Asian fowl
A peacock-pheasant is a bird of Southeast Asian forests, smaller than true peacocks but sharing their iridescent plumage and distinctive eyespot markings on the tail feathers.
Several species exist, typically shy ground-dwellers of dense jungle: We spotted a grey peacock-pheasant in the Thai highlands.
