payrolling
External salary administration
Payrolling is the practice of outsourcing employee payment administration to a third party.
A company hires workers but contracts with a payroll service to handle wages, taxes, and benefits.
The term also describes keeping someone on payroll—maintaining their employment status, sometimes nominally: They kept payrolling him even after he stopped showing up.
