passivism

Doctrine of nonresistance

Passivism is the doctrine or practice of passive resistance to authority, or more broadly, an attitude of accepting circumstances without active response.

It differs from pacifism, which specifically opposes war and violence.

A passivist might refuse to cooperate with unjust systems while refraining from forceful opposition: Her passivism meant she wouldn't fight the eviction but wouldn't leave voluntarily either.
