pass-fail

All or nothing

Pass-fail describes a grading system where students receive only passing or failing marks rather than letter grades or percentages: I took the class pass-fail to reduce stress.

The system removes pressure of grade competition but may not satisfy requirements for majors or graduate admissions.

Also used as a noun: The course is offered on a pass-fail basis.
