palm cross
Folded leaf symbol
A palm cross is a small cross woven from palm fronds, distributed to churchgoers on Palm Sunday.
The folded strips commemorate Jesus's entry into Jerusalem, when crowds laid palm branches in his path.
Many Christians keep their palm crosses through the year, sometimes tucking them behind mirrors or crucifixes until they're burned to create ashes for the following Ash Wednesday.
