overvote
Too many selections
Overvote has two related meanings in elections.
As a noun, an overvote is a ballot marked for more candidates than allowed in a race, invalidating that portion of the vote: The recount revealed thousands of overvotes.
As a verb, to overvote is to cast such a ballot or to vote for too many candidates: Confusing ballot design led many voters to overvote.
