Overadjusted describes something that has been adjusted too much, past the optimal point.
In statistics and machine learning, an overadjusted model has been corrected for so many variables that it distorts rather than clarifies relationships in the data.
The term also applies to mechanical calibration: The technician overadjusted the carburetor and now it runs too lean.
