ordnance disposal
Explosive removal work
Ordnance disposal is the process of safely neutralizing or destroying explosive military materials—bombs, shells, mines, and other munitions.
The work typically falls to specialized military units trained to handle unexploded ordnance: The ordnance disposal team was called in to clear the beach of World War II mines.
