An oil pressure gauge is an instrument that displays the pressure of lubricating oil in an engine or mechanical system.
Low readings can indicate oil leaks, pump failure, or dangerous wear.
Most vehicles have either a dial gauge or a simpler warning light: The oil pressure gauge dropped to zero just before the engine seized.
