odd birds
Peculiar people around
Odd birds are people who are unusual, eccentric, or quirky—individuals who don't quite fit conventional molds.
The phrase draws on the image of a strange specimen among a flock: The philosophy department attracted odd birds who'd failed to thrive elsewhere.
A single person is an odd bird.
