novelty candy
Unusual treat confections
Novelty candy prioritizes entertainment, surprise, or visual appeal over taste.
The category includes candy shaped like body parts, dispensed from toy mechanisms, packaged with collectible items, or designed to produce effects like popping, glowing, or staining the tongue.
The checkout aisle was lined with novelty candy—ring pops, candy necklaces, and tubes of sour gel.
The appeal is largely to children, though nostalgic adults buy it too.
