nonleaded
Free of lead
Nonleaded means containing no lead, typically describing gasoline or paint.
The term emerged when leaded versions were standard and alternatives needed distinction: nonleaded gasoline, nonleaded paint.
Now that lead has been phased out of most consumer products, unleaded is more common for fuel, while lead-free appears on paints and other goods.
