Nonfilter describes a cigarette without a filter tip—the kind smoked before filtered cigarettes became standard in the mid-twentieth century.
Now relatively rare, nonfilter cigarettes deliver more tar and nicotine: He still smokes nonfilters like his grandfather did.
The term occasionally extends to other unfiltered things, though filterless is more common outside tobacco contexts.
