no-trade clause
Player movement restriction
A no-trade clause is a provision in a professional athlete's contract that prevents the team from trading the player to another team without the player's consent.
Players with significant leverage—usually established stars—negotiate these clauses to control where they play: He has a full no-trade clause, so he can veto any deal.
A no-movement clause is similar but broader, also preventing teams from sending the player to the minor leagues.
