Quill tips, plural
Nibs are small pieces or fragments, most commonly referring to crushed cacao beans used in baking and chocolate-making: She sprinkled cacao nibs on the dessert.
The word also applies to crushed coffee beans or other granular bits.
Separately, his nibs or her nibs is a mildly mocking way to refer to someone who acts self-important: His nibs wants his coffee now.
