natural notes

No sharps, flats

Natural notes are the seven basic pitches in Western music—A, B, C, D, E, F, G—played without sharps or flats.

On a piano, these are the white keys.

The term distinguishes these unmodified tones from their raised or lowered variants: The melody uses only natural notes.
