natural magic
Wiccan ritual practice
Natural magic is the use of hidden properties in nature—herbs, stones, celestial influences—to produce wondrous effects, distinguished from demonic or supernatural magic by working through natural causes rather than spirit intervention.
The term belongs to Renaissance philosophy and early modern thought, when scholars sought to harness occult forces they believed were embedded in the created world: The alchemist practiced natural magic, not sorcery.
