national laws
Country's legal code
National laws are the legal rules enacted by a country's government that apply within its borders.
They contrast with international law, which governs relations between nations, and with local or state laws, which apply only to smaller jurisdictions: National laws on immigration override state policies.
The phrase often appears when distinguishing levels of legal authority or when a country's domestic regulations conflict with international standards.
