narcoterrorist
Cartel violence perpetrator
A narcoterrorist is someone who combines drug trafficking with terrorism—either a drug trafficker who uses terrorist tactics to protect operations, or a terrorist organization that funds itself through the drug trade.
The term emerged in the 1980s around Colombian cartels and has since applied to groups worldwide: The DEA targeted narcoterrorists operating along the border.
