nanny goats
Billies' female counterparts
Nanny goats are female goats, especially adult ones kept for milk production or breeding.
The term distinguishes them from billy goats, which are males.
The farmer's nanny goats produce enough milk for a small cheese operation.
In casual use, nanny goat sometimes appears in comparisons to describe someone who is stubborn or cantankerous.
