naif

Easily deceived person

A naif is a naive person—someone inexperienced, unsophisticated, or guileless.

The word often appears in artistic contexts, describing someone whose work has an untrained, childlike quality: The gallery featured paintings by self-taught naifs.

Unlike naive, which is usually an adjective, naif functions primarily as a noun: He plays the wide-eyed naif in every film.
