music archives
Stored audio collections
Music archives are collections of recordings, scores, documents, and related materials preserved for research, historical reference, or cultural heritage.
They range from institutional repositories holding rare recordings and manuscripts to personal collections of recordings accumulated over decades.
The term also describes digital platforms where users store or access music: I found some obscure jazz recordings in the university's music archives.
