Slang for toadstools
Mushies is informal for magic mushrooms—psilocybin-containing fungi used as psychedelics: We took some mushies and went to the beach.
The diminutive form is common in casual drug talk, similar to shrooms.
In other contexts, mushies can simply mean mushrooms or anything mushy, but the psychedelic sense dominates current slang.
