moralizations
Lessons on virtue
Moralizations are lectures or pronouncements on right and wrong, often unwelcome or self-righteous.
The word typically carries negative connotations—suggesting the speaker is more interested in displaying virtue than in genuine ethical guidance: I could do without his moralizations about my drinking.
Also spelled moralisations in British English.
