molest
Violate or pester
To molest is to disturb, bother, or interfere with someone.
The word now almost exclusively means to subject a person, especially a child, to unwanted sexual contact: He was convicted of molesting his stepdaughter.
The older, innocent sense—merely to pester or annoy—survives mainly in legal language and signs warning not to molest wildlife.
