milliards
European billion count
Milliards is the plural of milliard, a term used in British English and other European languages for one thousand million (1,000,000,000)—what Americans call a billion.
The word has largely fallen out of use in Britain, where billion now dominates, but remains current in some European contexts: The project cost several milliards of euros.
