midway game
Ring toss, darts
A midway game is a carnival attraction where players pay to compete for prizes—ring toss, balloon darts, shooting galleries, and the like.
The midway is the central thoroughfare of a fair or carnival where such games and rides are concentrated.
Midway games are notorious for being rigged or requiring more skill than they appear: I spent twenty dollars on that midway game and won a stuffed animal worth two.
