midautumn
Harvest moon season
Midautumn refers to the middle portion of autumn, typically October in the Northern Hemisphere.
The term appears most often in the Mid-Autumn Festival, a harvest celebration observed in China and other East Asian countries, held on the full moon of the eighth lunar month.
By midautumn, the leaves had turned brilliant shades of orange and red.
