mid-year review
Halfway performance check
A mid-year review is a formal assessment of performance or progress conducted halfway through a year, typically in a workplace setting between employee and manager.
It serves as a checkpoint before the annual review: My mid-year review went well, so I'm hopeful about my bonus.
The term also applies to any six-month evaluation of goals, budgets, or plans.
