metalled
Paved with stone
Metalled describes a road or path surfaced with broken stone, gravel, or similar hard material: a metalled road led to the farmhouse.
The term is chiefly British, appearing in contexts where Americans might say paved, though metalling specifically refers to aggregate surfaces rather than asphalt.
An unmetalled road is unpaved or dirt.
