mesmerizer
One who entrances
A mesmerizer is someone who mesmerizes—who captivates attention so completely that the subject seems entranced.
The word carries traces of its origin in Franz Mesmer's 18th-century hypnotic techniques, but now applies broadly to anyone with compelling presence: The speaker was a natural mesmerizer, holding the crowd rapt for two hours.
