mesh tape
Porous adhesive strip
Mesh tape is a self-adhesive fiberglass tape used in drywall work to reinforce joints and seams before applying joint compound.
The open-weave grid structure allows compound to pass through and bond on both sides: Apply mesh tape over the seam, then skim with mud.
Easier for beginners than paper tape, though less strong at inside corners.
