merit list
Top performers ranking
A merit list is a ranking of candidates or applicants based on their qualifications, test scores, or performance—used especially in educational admissions and government job selection in South Asia.
Placement on the merit list determines who receives offers: She made the merit list for medical school.
Those who don't make the cutoff may wait for subsequent rounds if positions open up.
