memory palaces

Imagined location storage

Memory palaces are a mnemonic technique where you mentally place items to remember along a familiar route or within a visualized space.

To recall the information, you walk through the imagined location and retrieve each item in sequence: She used a memory palace to memorize the periodic table.

Also called the method of loci.
