megaflops
Million floating operations
Megaflops is a unit measuring computing speed—one million floating-point operations per second.
The term belongs to a family of benchmarks (kiloflops, gigaflops, teraflops) that gauge how fast a processor handles complex mathematical calculations.
The supercomputer achieved 500 megaflops on the benchmark test.
Now largely obsolete as modern systems measure in gigaflops or higher.
