meat packers
Beef processing employees
Meat packers are workers or companies that process livestock into cuts of meat for sale.
The work involves slaughtering animals, butchering carcasses, and packaging the products for distribution.
Meatpacking has historically been dangerous, low-wage work: Upton Sinclair's novel exposed conditions in the Chicago meat packers.
The term also refers to the Green Bay Packers football team, named for the Indian Packing Company that sponsored them.
