masculinisation
Developing male traits
Masculinisation is the development of male physical characteristics.
In biology, it refers to the process by which an organism develops masculine traits—deepening voice, increased muscle mass, facial hair—whether through natural hormone changes, medical treatment, or exposure to androgens.
The term appears in discussions of transgender healthcare, intersex conditions, and hormonal disorders.
Also spelled masculinization.
